One of the companies I worked for as a Software Engineer created IVR software for major corporations. I have personally written thousands of lines of code that underpins IVR systems. I got to work with call centers that deployed our software, on some occasions I visited call centers to test & debug the software. It was important to get the software right to ensure a smooth customer experience. However, no amount of technical sophistication can substitute a warm & friendly human voice that greets customers and helps them navigate the system. The voice is really the heart of the customer-client interaction. Now I get to be that voice! :)
